Terms of service

TumaChat is in development. It is not a licensed payment institution and it does not yet settle against live mobile money rails. Balances and transactions in the current build exist for testing. Do not treat the app as a store of value until we state otherwise in writing.

• You must be 16 or older, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
• One person, one account. Your @handle is yours while the account is active.
• Keep your credentials to yourself — activity from your account is treated as yours.

• Amounts are whole Rwandan francs. Transfers require a resolved recipient.
• Sending is subject to your balance and your KYC tier limit. A transfer that would exceed either is refused rather than partially completed.
• A completed transfer is not reversible by you. If money moved in error, contact support and we will investigate against the ledger.
• Gift envelopes expire. Unclaimed value returns to the sender at the stated expiry, not to TumaChat.

A circle’s pot is held in escrow and paid out according to the schedule the group agrees. TumaChat maintains the record and moves the money; it does not guarantee contributions, mediate between members, or insure the pot.

• You are responsible for what you list, its legality, and delivering what you sold.
• Orders through a storefront are net of a platform commission, disclosed before you sell.
• Ad budget moves into escrow and is drawn down per impression. Unspent budget stays yours.
• No listing or ad for weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, financial schemes, or anything unlawful in Rwanda.

No harassment, no impersonation, no sexual content involving minors, no scams or coordinated fraud, no scraping or automated bulk messaging. We remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules, and we report criminal activity to the relevant authorities.

We may change these terms as the product develops; material changes will be announced in the app. You can close your account at any time. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms or that we are legally required to restrict.
